Microbiome analysis is a procedure that helps detect and analyze a sample’s microbial composition. The microbiome is a complex ecosystem that includes microorganisms — such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other single-cell organisms — found in a particular environment.
Starting from any sample, our laboratory can identify all microbes present in the model, at a species level.
We use state-of-the-art next-generation shotgun metagenomic sequencing for microbiome analysis, and the results are evaluated using our leading proprietary bioinformatics and prediction algorithm.
Our laboratory has a database of nearly 20,000 microbiome test results from standard human faecal microbiome analyses — amongst the largest of its kind in Europe. We can use this database to determine the deviation of the abundance of each species from the normal values for all human faecal microbiome tests.
